Children's Clinic

As a parent, finding a suitable treatment for childhood illnesses and complaints can be a rather daunting prospect. With the wide range of remedies and therapies currently available to treat each of the different maladies children suffer from, it is often difficult to know where to turn and to ascertain which treatment will offer the best overall result - a healthy, happy and relaxed child.

This is where Kinesiology comes into its own and can really help.

The Clifton Children’s Clinic

Kinesiology is exceptionally effective for children as it offers safe, effective alternatives to many childhood disorders and enables them to maximise their growth, health and learning potential. Rosie Dowbekin and Dawn Bailey, co-founders of this unique clinic, work together offering comprehensive treatments. A thorough screening service is also available which covers aspects of neurodevelopmental delay, brain integration, brain chemistry, the proper balance of neurotransmitters and mineral, vitamin or protein deficiencies. They also check that hydration levels are correct and will test for possible food sensitivities or allergies. This is followed up by a comprehensive written report which will outline areas of imbalance. You will be given dietary and supplemental recommendations that are tailor-made for your child’s unique requirements. If appropriate, exercises will be recommended to improve brain integration and remedy areas of neurodevelopmental delay. Your child’s progress will be monitored at three to six weekly intervals. The number of appointments necessary will depend on the severity and root cause of the problem.

How can Kinesiology help with learning?

In order to read fluently, write creatively, to spell and remember, to listen and think at the same time, one must be able to “cross the mid line” which connects the right and left hemispheres of the brain. This mid line can act as either a bridge or a barrier for learning. Simple yet powerful exercises can be used to overcome blockages in brain integration, balance the electrical energy and encourage proper processing across the whole brain. This can have a massive impact on neurological development, hand/eye co-ordination, general behaviour and the immune system. As a result, astonishing changes in a child’s health, behaviour and learning ability can be seen.

Omega Oils

Many people know the importance of omega oils in relation to optimal brain function, learning, behaviour and immunity. What is less well known is that omega oils have to be converted in the body into a useable form. This conversion cannot take place effectively if there is a deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals and this conversion can also be blocked by food sensitivities and allergies. Kinesiology can test not only whether your child needs omega oils, but also make sure that the proper conversion is taking place and maximum benefit is gained.

What are the common problems treated?

Low Energy
Low energy can be caused by a great number of things such as a lack of vital vitamins and minerals, a low grade viral or bacterial infection, food sensitivities or a toxic overload. Kinesiology can take the guesswork away and get to the root of the problem fast. Gentle, yet powerful techniques are used alongside appropriate nutritional supplements to restore vibrant health.

Fungal Infections
Glue ear, skin problems, headaches, behavioural problems, tiredness and allergies are often the result of undetected fungal infections in the gut. This is a very common condition and a child’s overall health and behaviour can be transformed rapidly once the underlying problem has been addressed.

Eczema and Asthma
These are often caused by allergies to, for example, house dust, animal fur or something in the child’s diet. Identifying and removing the allergic substance is only half the answer. With Kinesiology we can go further and use powerful techniques to strengthen the body and, if relevant, restore the health of the gut wall which has often become damaged, allowing toxins and undigested food particles to enter the blood stream, setting up an allergic response. In some cases certain foods can be reintroduced in moderation.

Behavioural Problems
There are many possible causes to common conditions such as hyperactivity, aggressive outbursts and mood swings. Kinesiology’s subtle, accurate testing can quickly identify root causes and instigate effective solutions. These may include balancing fluctuating sugar levels, removing food allergens, checking for deficiencies in vital minerals and vitamins, such as ‘calming’ magnesium, and also teaching simple yet profoundly effective exercises to assist self-control and anger management.
